APU Women’s Soccer needed visuals that honor both athletic excellence and a deeper mission of faith and community. The goal was to bring design that resonates beyond the field, connecting athletes, supporters, and mission.
APU Women’s Soccer needed visuals that honor both athletic excellence and a deeper mission of faith and community. The goal was to bring design that resonates beyond the field, connecting athletes, supporters, and mission.
As lead designer and brand consultant, I partnered with APU Women’s Soccer to develop a cohesive visual identity across digital and print platforms. Over six years, I created everything from logos and apparel to posters, mission trip graphics, and social content. Most recently, I designed apuvirtualvisit.com, a custom website built to give recruits a virtual experience of the campus and program. This new platform helps prospective athletes see what it means to be part of the APU community, no matter where they are.

The Story
THE OPPORTUNITY
Since 2021, Azusa Pacific Women’s Soccer has been looking to elevate its visual presence through consistent, high-quality design. The program lacked print and digital assets that reflected its elite level of competition and strong sense of identity. With the university’s move to Division III, the team also faced the challenge of redefining how it connects with recruits, alumni, and supporters.
THE APPROACH
Drawing from personal experience with APU’s community, I leaned into authenticity and purpose. The work began with understanding what makes APU unique: its people, purpose, and culture. Working with the head coach, we developed a "virtual visit" for recruits to get a sense of what APU is. I focused on translating their story into visuals that feel authentic and aspirational. Every design decision was made to help the program stand out in a new competitive landscape while staying grounded in its identity.

The refreshed brand identity elevated APU Women’s Soccer’s presence both on and off the field. Through cohesive branding, digital storytelling, and the launch of the APU Virtual Visit site, the team gained a complete system for communicating who they are and what they stand for. The creative direction unified their digital presence, ensuring that recruits, families, and fans experience the same message: one built on excellence, connection, and faith.

Social media presence also saw significant growth, with posts reaching over 100k views and generating higher engagement than ever before. Together, these efforts helped position APU Women’s Soccer for success as they enter a new era of competition and community.
