Five Tool Hero is a mentorship app for youth baseball and softball players. The aim was to design a bold brand and digital experience that motivates athletes ages 8–18 while reassuring parents of credibility and quality.

As lead designer and brand strategist, I was responsible for distilling Five Tool Hero’s mission into every visual and narrative touchpoint. From creating the logo and voice to designing digital and print materials, I ensured each piece reflects the balance of energy, performance, and character development.

The Story

THE OPPORTUNITY

Launching an app for youth sports meant entering a crowded market. The brand needed to stand out to kids and parents alike. The challenge was creating design and messaging that communicated excellence, mentorship, fun, and purpose, all in a way that feels trustworthy and engaging.

THE APPROACH

I built a story-driven brand identity rooted in gamified growth and leadership. Each design decision reinforces the idea of transformation and progression. The web and app experience was designed to feel high performance yet approachable, encouraging engagement without intimidation.

THE SOLUTION

Through strategic collaboration and design focus, I delivered a cohesive identity that motivates and builds pride. The logo resembles with that "young kid mentality" inside all of us. The one that fell in love with the sport. The one who still believes they can be the hero that saves the day. Visual elements emphasize progress, mentorship, and community. Everything comes together to position Five Tool Hero not just as a training tool, but as a platform for developing leaders.
